Goals of treatment include, but are not limited to, building skills to regulate emotions, understanding and resolving underlying issues that contributed to the development of mental health issues, building healthier relationships, improving self worth, gaining ability to utilize effective coping strategies and reducing fear.

Dietetic Referrals
In treatment for eating disorders it is highly recommended to also work with a dietician to educate on and support your individual nutritional needs.
We typically suggest the following agencies to navigate this:
Medical and Psychiatric Referrals
While we cannot prescribe medication, we cannot deny it’s ability to help in the management of various mental health conditions. If you’ve ever been curious about trying medications we are happy to discuss this further with you and refer you to community partners for further testing and medication management.
Case Consultation
The best treatment for eating disorders combines treatment from all three pillars: therapy, physical and psychiatric health, and dietetic services. A comprehensive approach is necessary to foster recovery.
Eating disorders are serious psychological conditions that can negatively impact health, emotions, and daily functioning. If you suspect you, or someone you know, may have an eating disorder, it’s essential to seek professional help promptly. Here are some key points about treatment options:
Psychological Therapy (Psychotherapy): This is a cornerstone of treatment. It helps address the underlying emotional and behavioral aspects of eating disorders. Therapists work with individuals to develop healthier relationships with food, body image, and self-esteem.
Nutrition Education: Learning about proper nutrition is crucial. Nutritionists or dietitians provide guidance on balanced eating habits, meal planning, and portion control.
Medical Monitoring: Regular check-ups are essential to monitor physical health, address any complications, and ensure safe weight management.
Medications: In some cases, medications may be prescribed to manage specific symptoms or co-occurring conditions.
Remember, overcoming an eating disorder takes time and effort, but many people can achieve full recovery with professional support. If you suspect you're dealing with an eating disorder, one of our qualified mental health professionals can help.
